Democracy On the Block Toolkit - Online Q&A Session

With elections just a few weeks away, it’s time to prepare. In this recurring Democracy On The Block Toolkit onboarding session, participants will gain the skills, resources, and context to organize a Democracy on the Block gathering.

We will provide an overview of our Democracy On The Block program and Organizer Toolkit document, providing participants with:

• A summary of the initiative’s scale, timeline, and vision.

• Recommendations for adapting and implementing the proposed framework to organizing in rural and urban environments.

• A model for how existing community networks/relationships can be leveraged to build cross-regional coalitions.

• An understanding of how to utilize relationships and networks born from Operation Metro Surge and adapt them into hyperlocal organizing hubs.

This briefing will be followed by a brief (15 min) Q&A/discussion, granting participants the opportunity to interrogate the Toolkit’s assumptions, share perspectives, suggest adaptations, and expand our collective understanding of effective community organizing.

Thursday, October 22nd, from 6:30–7:30 pm on Zoom.
